Payment Options

Fees 

My fee is $110 per session for individual or couples therapy. My fee for a psychological assessment typically costs $1100.00 but could vary depending on the requirements of the evaluation. Payment is requested at the end of each session. I accept cash, checks, and insurance payments. I also accept credit card payments through Paypal.

Insurance

• Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  We are preferred providers for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. If you have this health insurance program we will be happy to verify your benefits and determine what your costs for treatment will be. You would only be responsible for the deductible or co-payment; we will bill your insurance carrier for their share of your psychotherapy bill. You may or may not have an annual limit on the number of psychotherapy sessions.

• Aetna
  We are preferred providers for Aetna Insurance. If you have this health insurance program we will be happy to verify your benefits and determine what your costs for treatment will be. You would only be responsible for the deductible or co-payment; we will bill your insurance carrier for their share of your psychotherapy bill. You may or may not have an annual limit on the number of psychotherapy sessions. We also provide EAP services for employees eligible for these services.

• Medicare
  We are also Medicare providers. Please be aware that your co-payment for sessions seen under Medicare is 50% of the fee. If you have supplemental insurance the supplemental carrier often covers the remainder of the bill.

• Other PPOs
  Other PPOs likely cover the majority of the cost. However, we would be considered an "out-of-network provider" at this time. I would be happy to determine what your coverage is if you would like me to check. In this case, I will be happy to provide you with any receipts you need to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company.

• Other HMOs
  We do not contract with any other HMO plans, so we would be considered an "out-of-network provider." If you have an HMO plan, it is not likely that you would be eligible for reimbursement for our services. Reimbursement is only likely if you see someone that the plan has a contract with. These plans will generally only pay benefits for in-network providers. If you have an HMO plan, you may wish to seek treatment with someone within your program's network to minimize your costs. Or you can pay out-of-pocket. 

Other Payment Options

• Flex Plan or Medical Savings Plan
  If your employer has a tax-free medical savings plan, it is likely that this plan can reimburse you for any psychotherapy bills that you pay out-of-pocket (up to the amount that you have put in the plan for the fiscal year). Check with your employer for details.

• Out-of-Pocket Payment
  Some people prefer the added privacy of paying for psychotherapy out-of-pocket, even if they have insurance. Of course, we keep personal information that is supplied to insurance carriers to a minimum, but they generally have the right to inspect your treatment records (although this is very rarely done). My out-of-pocket fee as of the time of this writing is $120 per session. Please call for current fee information.

• Sliding Scale
  If the payment options and or fee schedule listed is not within your means please contact me and we can try to work out arrangements that you can afford.

• 
  PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, PayPal Smart Connect or account balances, without sharing financial information.
