Andreea Mincic is a theater designer, visual artist, and educator based in New York City. Originally from Romania.

Andreea is drawn to inventive, interdisciplinary, and unconventional projects. Working across scenic design, costumes, props, masks, puppets, wigs, and object-making, she builds worlds that live somewhere between sculpture and performance. Her practice is rooted in collaboration and craftsmanship, combining conceptual thinking with hands-on making. She is particularly interested in preserving the relationship between mind and hand when designing.

Early in her career, Andreea assisted renowned designers Ming Cho Lee and Santo Loquasto and later worked as assistant and associate scenic designer to Narelle Sissons. Since then, she has designed for a wide range of downtown theater companies, artists, and experimental performance makers, including Alex Tatarsky, Tom Lee, Half Straddle, Big Dance Theater, The Builders Association, Two Headed Calf, Hoi Polloi, Jim Findlay, Radiohole, Mallory Catlett, Susan Marshall, and Banana Bag & Bodice.

Her work has been seen at venues including BAM, The Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons, New York Theatre Workshop, St. Ann's Warehouse, The Kitchen, MoMA PS1, The Whitney Museum of American Art, Abrons Arts Center, Soho Rep, La MaMa, JACK, The Bushwick Starr, Skirball Center, and other theaters, galleries, and performance spaces.

As an educator, Andreea has taught and designed with institutions including Harvard University, New York University, Northeastern University, University of Pennsylvania, Pace University's Actors Studio Drama School and undergraduate program, and CUNY LaGuardia Community College. Through her teaching, she mentors emerging artists and designers, encouraging them to become thoughtful collaborators, makers, and creative leaders in the performing arts.
